My Birthday Wish

I started writing because I wanted to share what I’ve learned about living a supernatural lifestyle, in the hopes it would be a blessing to my friends and family.

I hoped to pass along the peace that comes from understanding the love of our Heavenly Father. Instead, I feel I’ve reached a point where I am no longer relatable.

I remember thinking this of other Christians in my youth – how unrelatable the outspoken were. We even had a nickname for them – “Bible-thumpers”. They were so focused on citing scriptures to drive us towards following the rules, and attempted to instill a fear of going to hell if we didn’t conform. I always felt they were missing it – missing how to relate to their audience. They forgot to live as Jesus role-modeled while on earth – simply demonstrating love and relationship with the Father.

The Father wants us to know Him, understand His love, and understand His will for our lives. It is always God’s will for you to be well. It is always God’s will for us to die of old age, peacefully in our beds.

I know these are bold words that contradict what you have been taught – that sickness or disease must be from a powerful God who is trying to teach you a lesson. That God must need another angel in heaven so He took your loved one. Not true! Satan caused your pain. Satan brought sickness and disease because he hates us! If he cannot kill a child in the womb – he will continue to try throughout infancy and into adulthood. If you lost a loved one before their time – get mad! Satan stole them from you!

We are a lost people who do not understand Satan or his tactics. We are innocently getting picked off by an enemy we cannot see.

Being a child of God, accepting Jesus as our savior, and inviting the Holy Spirit to become one with our own spirit gives us everything we need to stand against the enemy.

I loved learning about the armor of God in Ephesians chapter 6, versus 10-20. God’s instruction, as passed along through Paul, was to put on the armor of God, so that we may stand against the powers of the enemy. To stand against an enemy means to adopt a stance that will allow you to not get knocked down. It does not mean to fight, to battle, to throw punches. That is the Holy Spirit’s job. Our job is to stand in the knowledge that we are a child of God, covered by the blood of the Savior.

If you know the price has already been paid for your salvation, then you don’t have to suffer attacks of the enemy. So the important revelation here – is that when Jesus died on the cross and was resurrected – he didn’t just pay the price for your soul, but your physical body as well. Jesus completely paid all of your debts – both spiritual and physical.

Unfortunately, most of us don’t really know or understand this point – and were taught the cross only won us our salvation – our ticket into heaven. To not appreciate that the cross also covered us physically, means we bear physical affliction even though the price has been paid. This is the equivalent of Jesus paying off your mortgage and you are debt free! But you don’t want to risk losing your home, so you keep paying the price each month by sending in your mortgage payment. You keep taking on sickness, pain, disease when Jesus said you didn’t have to!

I pray these simple messages sink in. God loves you and has a perfect will for your life! He wants you well and to die of old age! But you have an enemy that hates how much God loves you; Satan wants you to suffer. Understanding that Jesus already won the war, we simply have to remind our enemy of that, and tell him to go. Resist the devil and he will flee.

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what Godʼs will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”  Romans 12:2 NKJV
