Heaven on Earth

Most Christians I know can recite The Lord’s Prayer by heart. Jesus taught the disciples this prayer during His time on earth to teach them His father’s desire for a personal relationship with them. This prayer was never meant to be recited by a crowd in public. In the book of Matthew, chapter 6, Jesus encouraged the disciples to find a secret place, away from the audience of men, to pray to the Father.

For those less familiar, the model prayer from Matthew 6:9–13 (NKJV) is as follows:

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.

Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

And do not lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

As I studied divine healing, I came to understand the power of this portion of the prayer, “Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” We are praying for God’s will to manifest in our lives.

Understanding that God’s will for us is to always be healthy was an important foundation in praying healing for someone. If I am simply agreeing with God’s will, I know I am always praying the right thing.

How do I know it is God’s will that you be healthy? I like to rest on the promise of Romans 12:2 (NKJV), “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

God’s will is perfect. And by perfect, I am happy to declare that means no sickness or disease. There is no sickness and disease in Heaven – in God’s Kingdom. The statement just before “Your will be done” is “Your Kingdom come.” God is instructing us to pray that the realities of God’s Kingdom come into earth, so that His will may be done on earth.

There is no sickness in Heaven, therefore it is not God’s will there be sickness on earth. My healing prayers are simply seeing the person in front of me as God sees them – and agreeing the sickness attacking them needs to leave so that God’s will prevails.

Later in the book of Matthew, in chapter 18, verse 18 (NKJV), Jesus says, “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth with be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth with be loosed in heaven. Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.”

So let’s get to agreeing that sickness and disease have no place in our lives! Let’s agree that God’s perfect will for us is divine health! In Jesus’ name, I can bind whatever tries to afflict me. Let’s bind cancer! Bind migraines! Bind diabetes!

Reporting for Duty

I think we all like the idea of angels, especially guardian angels that our parents promised were standing by at all times. When I started driving for the first time, my dad gave me a sticker for my car that said “Never drive faster than your guardian angel can fly.” I cherish the sentiment that I am always safe in my Heavenly Father’s grasp.

The more I learn about the supernatural lifestyle, the more angels seem to come up. If you dive in like I did, and start learning and absorbing as much as possible about spiritual gifts, you will soon start reading about people who have the gift of “seeing in the spirit,” or in 1 Corinthians, chapter 12 it is called “discerning of spirits.” This gift often comes with mixed reviews – as the spirit world is made up of both types of spirit beings – the good and the bad. If you want to see angels, and learn to do so, most likely you will also see demons.

As children, seeing angels and demons can be a common occurrence. In fact, the demon called “Fear” is one of Satan’s favorites to flash in front of children at night, from under the bed or lurking in a dark corner of the room. We have come to accept when children become afraid of the dark, and from a young age let fear settle into their souls and take up residence. Oh, how I wish I could teach all the children of the world to command the demons to go in Jesus’ name so they could conquer fear and never let it return.

I watched several video courses and read many books by Christians with the gift of seeing in the spirit. And while certain individuals seem to be more “tuned in” than others – I agree this is a gift we can all chose to receive from our Heavenly Father.

The best analogy I heard to explain this gift, was that seeing in the spirit realm is just like using our imagination. As children, using our imagination is encouraged, but as soon as children see the bad side of this (the monster under the bed), we tell them, “Oh, there is no monster under the bed! It is all in your imagination.” So it is engrained early on, that scary things live in our imaginations, and that must be bad. Studies show that children stop actively using their imaginations at 9 years of age, often as parents and teachers stop encouraging it.

But our imagination is actually more like a TV. A TV is not inherently good or bad. Instead what you chose to project on that TV can be good or bad. It is our choice what to watch, just like it is our choice what we chose to imagine.

I now like the idea of imagining angels…heavenly helpers reporting for duty. Besides the “guardian angels” that drive around with me, I also believe I can deploy “healing angels” to extend my reach when I want to lay hands on someone I’m not in front of.

I have witnessed “deliverance angels” that help fight the demonic forces that attempt to attack us physically. And now I believe in “prophetic angels” that will deliver information to us about someone who needs a word from God.

And recently, a prophet told me that a “scribe angel” has been assigned to me. While I had never heard of it, I knew immediately what he meant. This insight gave me the courage to sit down at my keyboard and began to transcribe my first blog entry. Yes, I said transcribe. The Lord has already written the words for me – and my duty is simply to write them down and pass them along.

I thank you for being on this supernatural journey with me. If you would like to learn which angles are hanging out with you, I would encourage you to read one of the following:
